Hmmm... I'm with Guarav on this one. iCal is great, syncs with my iPhone (obviously), and you can see those birthdays creeping up on you.

And, I really have to say, if this is your "favourite website", you need to stay in more! ;)

I guess I'm doomed to 'look older, saggy and dsiporportioned' but I can confirm that I do not suffer from back or neck problems - I feel good. I am completely deluded to believing I look fabulous in anything I choose to wear from woolly dressing-gown through to tailored suit irrespective of underwear choices. Bras are not a foundation to my knowledge, skills, attitude or capabilities, I'm lucky that way. Just call me old saggy disproportioned retro-CR wendy ;-)

Great tip, I think and do the exact same, although I do not use a website to notify me nor do I really see the need.

I use iCal (calendar application for Mac OS X) which is integrated into Address Book (funnily enough, an address book application for Mac OS X) which I have all my contacts in. I just add the dates for people in my address book and use iCal to notify me as iCal automatically picks up the fact that my contacts have birthdays.

I then use iSync to sync across all my contacts and calendar entries to my mobile phone (Sony Ericsson K850i) which notifies me of birthdays because they're now in the phone calendar.

I then sync my iPod Touch with the exact same, blah blah, this comment is already way too long.

Get my drift?!

Which is why I like the fact that they only have my email address and not my family's one :-)

Agreed, there are too many invites flying around the internet these days

I despise and simply don't trust these sites. I can easily remember birthdays with my Nokia cell phone calendar or using Thunderbird's Lightening add-on. I avoid giving such info to any 3rd party as I simply don't trust them to NOT to spam me or my family/friends directly or via some seedy "partner". For the same reason I always refuse LinkedIn and Plaxo requests; gone as far to just blacklist them on the mail server. Sometimes it is better to use private tools over some web service that claims to be honest.

The problem I have with email newsletters that come out at all regularly is that they clutter my inbox. Now that I've acheived Inbox Zero, I don't want to go back, and so every email I get needs to be dealt with within ~2 minutes if possible. Reading newsletters can take a good bit longer.

Separating my subscriptions into an RSS reader shifts the dynamic so that they're there when I want them to be, instead of when they're pushed to me. I deal with RSS when I want to instead of with actionable inbox items.

Yes, that was you :-) such a great exspression!

How true, the more cultures you are exposed to, the greater your pool of potential phrases, I still remember the giggles from my german work-mates when I said, in German 'It's raining cats and dogs', a phrases they had never heard :-)

Might that have been me? I find the English language with all its accents pretty expressive such that I don't have to use tired and crude expressions like a southern red neck when there are plenty of equally expressive and amusing quips that don't offend. Also helps I did my senior school years in Australia and have English and French Canadian family and friends from which to draw on. ''Mon dieu chalice tabernacle.'' ''Too right mate!''

I absolutely moderate what expressions I use depending on whom I'm speaking to.

For example, I avoid many colorful expressions when texting a certain friend of mine who always seems to take them literally (i.e. never heard of them) and use them liberally when communicating with a very intelligent friend of mine. Also, on occaision, when talking with a known Brit (I'm American) I'll sign my message "cheers" because, honestly, that's the best ever. :)
